‘Bob’s Burgers’ Actor Eugene Mirman Speaks Out After Car Crash

Eugene Mirman, the voice actor best known for playing Gene Belcher in “Bob’s Burgers,” has spoken out after surviving a fiery car crash earlier this week.
“Hello everyone! Thank you so much for all the well wishes, love and kind messages from friends and strangers,” he wrote in an Instagram caption. “I am extraordinarily thankful to the heroic people that pulled me from the car and to the warm, kind and talented staff at the hospital that cared for me and got me on the mend! I am thankful beyond words to be here and doing relatively alright, all things considered. I don’t have my phone, so haven’t been online much. I do not recommend my method of decreasing screen-time. If you’re a friend who sent a kind, loving message, you should know that it was hard to not respond with, ‘I’d love to be on your podcast.’ I love you all and please take care of yourselves, Eugene.”
While driving on the F.E. Everett Turnpike in New Hampshire on Tuesday, Mirman crashed into the Bedford Toll Plaza, which NBC Boston reports is a notorious location for car accidents. As his car burst into flames, he was pulled from the wreckage by a group of witnesses including a state trooper on the security detail of New Hampshire governor Kelly Ayotte, who happened to be nearby. Mirman sustained “serious injuries” according to a press release from the New Hampshire police department, and was transported by ambulance to a hospital.
