Mets’ Juan Soto exits in first inning with apparent injury

SAN FRANCISCO — As if the Mets currently didn’t have enough problems, Juan Soto exited Friday night’s game in the first inning, replaced by Tyrone Taylor in leftfield as the Giants were coming to bat.
Soto singled to rightfield in his first time up, then appeared to have a leg issue rounding second base on his way to third on Bo Bichette’s RBI single. He was later retired on a force out at the plate on Brett Baty’s 1-2-3 double play grounder back to the mound.
The Mets said Soto exited with right calf tightness.
