Jessica Pegula’s husband Taylor Gahagen isn’t known for being in the public eye, but he’s making news amid his wife’s appearance at the Charleston Open on Saturday, April 4.
Pegula will go up against Iva Jovic on Saturday in one of the most talked-about matches of the Charleston Open. She’s been working hard to find her place in the tennis world, but Pegula has already found her perfect place off the court with Gahagen in her life.
Pegula and Gahagen met in 2015 and started dating. Over the course of their relationship, Pegula, who is the daughter of Buffalo Bills owners Terry and Kim Pegula, has worked to get to the top of WTA rankings, and Gahagen has been supportive the full way. But, now Gahagen has a venture of his own.

Gahagen and two of his friends recently formed a private-equity firm that’s centered on buying and growing small businesses and developing a commercial real estate portfolio, according to a report from the Buffalo News.
Gahagen and two of his friends who share backgrounds in business and finance, George Tibil and Keith Fields, have formed this private-equity firm, and all three are managing partners.
“We said to ourselves that we’re getting old and we’ve got the entrepreneurial bug, so do we want to take a shot before we have too many kids,” Gahagen told the outlet in September of 2025. “It’s been a fun journey.”
The outlet adds that “two years after launching Dragos Capital, they are steadily building their business.” For example, the publication notes that since taking over a local franchise of ServiceMaster Clean, a commercial janitorial service, the company has “doubled its employee base to 70 while boosting business by 75% in the last year.” Also, compared to 450 ServiceMaster locations in the U.S. and Canada, it’s now ranked 11th largest by growth in the health care and manufacturing sectors, according to the Buffalo News.
So, Gahagen is making waves on his own, but meanwhile, he can still cheer for his wife from the sidelines at the Charleston Open.

Pegula and Gahagen got married in October 2021, saying “I do” at Biltmore Estate in Asheville, North Carolina, according to Tennis.com. A collection of tennis players were at the event, including Jennifer Brady, Asia Muhammad, Taylor Townsend and Samantha Crawford.
The couple was first supposed to get married in October 2020, but the ceremony was postponed due to the pandemic. Still, they were able to have a full wedding just one year later, so it wasn’t too much of an inconvenience.
The two embarked on their honeymoon in the summer of 2022 in Costa Rica. Regarding the honeymoon, Pegula said in an interview with WTA that she’s more “adventurous” than her husband and went waterfall rappelling and ziplining on the honeymoon, but Gahagen enjoyed just watching. ‘It was amazing, it was so much fun,” she told the outlet. “We want to go back so bad. It was just the best experience. The people, the food, the lifestyle was so much fun.”
