Jack White, Jack Black team up on ‘Seven Nation Army’ on ‘SNL’

The two Jacks joined up inside ‘SNL’s’ Five-Timer’s Club.

It didn’t take long for Jack Black and Jack White to join forces during their joint “Saturday Night Live” episode.

White appeared during Black’s monologue, a riff on “SNL’s” vaunted “Five Timer’s Club,” which Black officially entered by making his fifth hosting appearance on NBC’s long-running sketch comedy show. Five Timers Jonah Hill, Melissa McCarthy, Candice Bergen and Tina Fey also appeared during the monologue.

It was also White’s fifth time as musical guest — his sixth time overall on the show — and he sported one of the show’s hallowed Five Timer’s Club jackets. White then backed Black during a Five Timer’s-themed rendition of the White Stripes’ hit “Seven Nation Army,” which Black introduced as “the world’s most rockin’ song.”

White also joined a pre-taped sketch called “Words to Live By” where he provided a guitar solo during a send-up of a country song.

He performed his new single “Derecho Demonico” during his first musical performance of the evening, and followed up with his other new single, “G.O.D. And the Broken Ribs,” for his second.

The two new songs were released on a tri-color vinyl at Third Man Records stores on Saturday.

And here is video of the show’s goodbyes, which were cut short on the local WDIV-TV (Local 4) broadcast.

A new episode of “SNL” airs April 11 with host Colman Domingo and musical guest Anitta.
