ATCHISON, Kan. (WIBW) – A man was arrested in connection with methamphetamine possession and other offenses Thursday in Atchison, authorities said.
The arrested man was identified as Maurice E. Burnett, 63, of Atchison.
Officials said Burnett was arrested Thursday in the 1200 block N. 5th Street in Atchison.

Authorities said Atchison police officers were called around 7:45 a.m. Thursday to the 1200 block of N. 5th Street to investigate a suspicious person.
Officers then located Burnett, who was taken into custody and later booked into the Atchison County Jail in connection with disorderly conduct, possession of methamphetamine, and a Kansas Department of Corrections detain order for parole violation.
