‘Survivor 50’: Here’s who was voted out on this week’s episode

Recapping Wednesday’s episode of ‘Survivor 50,’ titled ‘That’s Not How I Play Survivor.’
Scheming. Lying. Backstabbing. Just another day at the beach.
Here’s what went down on Wednesday’s episode of “Survivor 50,” titled “That’s Not How I Play Survivor.” (That title is a Coach quote, by the way.) Warning, spoilers ahead:
What was the fallout from the Blood Moon?
Tiffany was fiery mad over the ouster of Kamilla on last week’s “Survivor.” “I want to scream,” she said while back at camp, even referring to Jonathan, in confessional, as a “lying skank.” “But I know in this moment, I have to keep myself composed.” Meanwhile, Coach referred to Colby’s exit as “a most honorable sendoff,” but then started sharpening his knives against Dee Valladares and several other players. “There was a line in the sand, now it’s a wall in the sand,” Coach said, vowing to “wage war on all these people” and later freestyling haikus about the situation. Once a Tidewalker, always a Tidewalker!
How was Ozzy and Rizo’s time on Exile Island?
Lovely. Both came back refreshed and quickly got caught up on everything they missed out on. Rizo was invited into Coach’s “Four Horsemen” alliance, along with Jonathan and Joe, replacing the departed Colby. Rizo, to his credit, quickly saw through the offer. “Wow, thanks, I’m so valuable that I’m in your group now because one of your members is down,” he said in confessional. But he placated the Tidemaster to his face. Rizo also solidified his alliance with Cirie and Ozzy — named “Cirie’s Rizzer of Ozz” — and he found out that Dee had casually mentioned to others that he is in possession of an idol. “I was messy,” Dee admitted. “That could be a million dollar mistake.”
How long can you hold your arm above your head?
If you’re Stephanie LaGrossa Kendrick, you can do it for a full hour. She was sent off for an individual challenge where if she held her arm above her head for 30 minutes, she was able to keep her vote at Tribal Council, and if she held it up for an hour, she got to steal someone’s else’s vote at Tribal, giving her two votes, a massive advantage. She returned to camp and told everyone she made it just 30 minutes, but Cirie immediately did the math, spotted her lie, and called her out on it in private. Steph told Cirie the truth, and Cirie immediately went and told Rizo about her advantage. Secrets don’t stay secrets for long in this world.
Who won immunity?
After a challenge where the players had to roll a giant boulder — which may or may not have been an inflatable ball wrapped in a hard shell — and then assemble a puzzle, the team of Joe, Ozzy, Christian, Emily, Rick, Dee and Stephanie emerged victorious, earning Chinese takeout for their efforts. More importantly, they were then sent to compete for individual immunity, in a challenge where they had to hold a large beam above their heads while balancing a ball at one end. Ozzy came out on top, edging out Joe, and winning himself safety at Tribal Council.
What was up with Coach?
Great question! Coach was in overdrive, trying to control the votes on the 14-person Tribal Council, organizing a split vote between Dee and Tiffany. Meanwhile, he made himself a target because, as Rick Devens said, “this is ‘Survivor 50,’ nobody came here to be anybody’s lackey.” Emily finally said what everybody was thinking — hey, should we vote out Coach? Meanwhile the Dragon Slayer was amusing himself with haikus, not realizing he was only the hero in his own eyes.
Was Billie Eilish mentioned?
Of course she was! But not until the very end of the episode, when Aubry played her Billie Eilish idol during Tribal Council.
Who was voted out?
Dee Valladares, who was right, as it turns out, about that “million dollar mistake.” It looked as though she was successfully organizing a militia against Coach, and she was whispering in a lot of people’s ears at Tribal that she had the votes against the Tidewalker. But it takes more than whispers to slay the Dragon Slayer. For safety’s sake, she tried playing her Shot in the Dark, but she came up short and her fire was snuffed. Onward!
