Tennessee big man JP Estrella commits to Michigan

Michigan’s season ended three days ago, but the Wolverines have landed their first transfer portal commitment as Tennessee big man JP Estrella committed to the Wolverines. The news was first reported by ESPN.

Estrella has two years of eligibility remaining and just completed his redshirt sophomore year, averaging 10 points and 5.4 rebounds in 18.3 minutes per game for the Volunteers, who lost to Michigan in the Elite Eight. He palyed just three games in 2024-25 before missing the year due to surgery on his left foot.

Estrella is ranked 23rd in the portal by The Athletic and 21st according to 247 Sports. EStrella was a top-100 player out of high school and played for the Middlesex Magic, a grassroots program that also featured incoming Michigan freshman Quinn Costello and former Wolverine Duncan Robinson.
