Dale E. Stolldorf Sr.

Dale E. Stolldorf Sr., a hard working and loving family man, passed away on March 17th, 2026 in his granddaughter Jessica’s home, surrounded by loved ones and laughter.
Dale dedicated 45 years of his life to the Eagle Food Chain, where he was admired for his unwavering work ethic and steady presence. Before beginning his long career, he proudly served in the United States Army from 1960 to 1962.
Dale was also well known in the Woodstock community as the co-owner of Wayne’s Lanes, where he enjoyed years of friendship, laughter, and connection with those who walked through its doors.
Dale spent his retirement years in Lake Egypt, Illinois for over 25 years and took annual trips to Gulf Shores, Alabama. He loved the sunrises and enjoying a black cup of coffee on his porch.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Judy—whom he lovingly referred to as the “best ever wife”—as well as his son, Dale Jr., and his brothers, John and Dennis.
Dale is survived by his daughter, Kristine; his grandchildren Cheryl Stolldorf, Jessica Kittle, Ryan Linhart, James Horton, and Jordan Trower; and his great‑grandchildren Damian and Deric Kittle. His family will remember him for his quiet strength, his loyalty, and the deep stubborn love he carried for each of them.
Dale’s legacy lives on in the generations who follow him, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
