David Haye’s ‘throuple’ rumours explained…
- David Haye has been causing a stir while on I’m A Celebrity as his relationship with long-term girlfriend Sian Osborne has been dissected by millions of viewers.
- Retired boxer David, 45, made his relationship with model Sian official in 2020 but it wasn’t until a few years into their romance that their bond made headlines around the world.
- It has been claimed that the pair are in a consensual non-monogamous relationship – sometimes referred to as ethical non-monogamy (ENM) – and most often includes a person who has multiple romantic and sexual relationships, with the consent of their partner.
- ENM has become more common in recent years, with many dating apps, including Feeld, specifically catered for “open-minded people exploring love, desire, and alternative relationships in a safe, inclusive space”.
- Users on Tinder and Hinge are also able to share their relationship status and desires openly on their profiles, and filter their search for others seeking the same thing.
- While David has been tight-lipped about his romance history during his time in South Africa, that hasn’t stopped his co-stars from gossiping. In a recent episode, Gemma Collins couldn’t help commenting about the headlines, telling fellow campmate Adam Thomas : “Honey, it’s everywhere in the press! He’s in a permanent throuple, the geezer.”
- The GC isn’t the only one who couldn’t resist a cheeky dig as the hosts also referred to David’s love life – with Dec quipping: “Tell you what, it must be busy round David Haye’s house – him and his two girlfriends.” Ant added: “Don’t forget that bloke in his bedroom as well – every night he shouts in the microphone, ‘Let’s get ready to throuple!’”
- In 2023, Una Healy joined David and Sian on an idyllic trip to Costa Rica, sparking further throuple rumours .The trio posed for sun-drenched Instagram photos and hinted at the situation in their separate captions. David later posted a joint Valentine’s Day tribute to the Saturdays singer and the model, dedicating the post to his ‘queens’.
- Although rumours swirled, the musician later shared her side of the story during an appearance on the My Therapist Ghosted Me podcast, insisting that reports were overblown. “Dating him is the right term because that’s how it was, it wasn’t a throuple. We had a lovely relationship,” she declared. “It was casual, it wasn’t serious. I was happy enough with it. It was in a romantic capacity.”
- Lifting the lid on her connection to Sian, Una added: “I did meet her [Sian], really nice girl. I didn’t get to know her very well, it wasn’t a throuple … The T word, I had to google it myself because I’d never heard it, I was like what is this? Why am I being called this name that I have never heard of, I don’t know what it is.”
- That same year, David was also romantically involved with Coronation Street star Helen Flanagan, who he had met during his original stint on I’m A Celeb in 2012 – but their fling ultimately ended in December 2023.
- Appearing on Celebs Go Dating in 2024, the actress unpacked their fling, recalling: “He had a girlfriend and an open relationship. I didn’t mean to fall in love with him, but I did. We did have this amazing connection together – we were like fire. It was weird – I think he does love his girlfriend and he loves me as well. It just brings me to a part in my life that was quite dark.
- “I had communication with his girlfriend, but I felt very guilty. I didn’t feel nice about it all. It really upsets me because I don’t mean to hurt other people but I was just really lonely. I found it really difficult because it just happened. It’s not nice on another girl and I should’ve known better.”
- When asked about the reports that she was in a throuple with David and Sian, Helen clarified: “No [it wasn’t]. I was in love with him. I wouldn’t have enjoyed watching the man I was in love with have sex with another woman, that’s not for me.”
