ITV Good Morning Britain viewers have been delighted to witness the comeback of two “top tier” presenters on the morning show this Bank Holiday weekend.
The breakfast television programme aired once more this morning (Monday, April 6), featuring its typical blend of news, political discussions, showbiz updates and weather forecasts.
This morning, Richard Madeley took his place in the central London studio alongside Charlotte Hawkins for the latest live broadcast as they brought viewers up to speed on the day’s major stories – and audiences were pleased to see the familiar duo back as they demanded a “petition” on the show’s future, reports the Mirror.

Writing on X, one fan posted: “Charlotte and Richard are smashing it this morning – top tier substitutes for Susannah and Ed.”
Acknowledging that “Good Morning Britain has been enjoyable again today”, the viewer continued: “Petition needed to keep CandR on Thursdays and Fridays (sorry Ranvir, collateral damage).”
Another mentioned Susanna Reid and Ed Balls were returning tomorrow (Tuesday, April 7) as they went on: “I have enjoyed watching Richard and Charlotte today, so refreshing and exciting, not looking forward to watching gmb tomorrow, just dull from tomorrow #gmb.”
A third remarked: “Charlotte is a pleasure.”
Just last week, one fan commended host Richard, saying: “Good to see Richard Madeley back in @gmb many might not agree but I like his passion when interviewing.”
Earlier this month, Madeley made his comeback to the ITV programme after spending several weeks in America. On his return, he commented: “I’ve been out of the country for the last couple of weeks.

“I’ve been in America actually,” he revealed, with Kate Garraway swiftly interjecting: “You’re looking very well by the way. [It’s] lovely to have you back.”
Today’s episode of Good Morning Britain featured Richard sampling an unusual dish live on air during a segment focused on Gen Z reviving ‘Grandma cooking’.
He tasted a pie filled with liver, kidney and heart, confessing that although initially dubious, he enjoyed the culinary experience – however, some viewers disagreed, posting the “sick” emoji online.
Elsewhere on the programme, Richard and Charlotte delved into topics such as the triple lock state pension and shoplifting in supermarkets, as well as interviewing Steve Backshall about his thrilling Orcas discovery in Cornwall.
