Paris Saint-Germain is playing one of the most important matches of its season this Tuesday night in the Champions League on Liverpool’s pitch. The capital club starts with an advantage but must be wary of vengeful Reds, carried by their crowd.

Among the players PSG can count on is Mendes, 23. The Portuguese fullback is considered one of the best in the world at his position and wins over both fans and observers of the Parisian club. He also generates unanimity among certain competitors, and Hansi Flick will not say otherwise.
According to information from the X account Topskills Sports UK, FC Barcelona’s German coach particularly appreciates a profile like Mendes’s to strengthen his squad. But the Catalan leadership knows well that a transfer of the Portuguese player to Barca is currently impossible unless the player himself requests his departure from PSG.
Next summer, it would not be surprising to see Barca turn toward a new left back, as modern football now demands complete players capable of being decisive on the flanks.
In the meantime, Flick will have to make do with the resources at hand this Tuesday night on Atletico Madrid’s pitch. And the mission looks complicated. After the 2-0 first-leg defeat, Barca will have to pull off a true feat to qualify.

The Catalans will have to show a completely different face, more aggressive and more effective, if they want to turn the situation around. Without that, a Champions League elimination would further fuel doubts around Barca’s current project.
