Lorenz Larkin injured, out of Most Valuable Promotions’ Netflix event

Lorenz Larkin will no longer be competing at the upcoming Most Valuable Promotions MMA event on Netflix against former Bellator champion Jason Jackson.

Larkin (27-8) has announced he has had to withdraw from his fight against Jackson (19-6) due to injury, leaving MVP MMA 1 with one less fight for now. The event takes place May 16 at Intuit Dome in Inglewood, Calif., and is headlined by Ronda Rousey vs. Gina Carano.

“I’m sorry to all the fans but I had to pull out of the Netflix card due to knee injury,” Larkin wrote on Instagram Stories. “Will be rehabing it back to 100% and will be back.”

Larkin was last in action under the Karate Combat banner in December, where he lost in the first round to Vanilto Antunes, a result that ended a three-fight streak in MMA and karate competition. Jackson’s most recent fight was against Thad Jean in a PFL headliner last June, a bout that went the distance, resulting in a controversial split decision.

At the time of writing, it’s unclear if MVP will search for a new opponent for Jackson.

  • Muhammad Mokaev vs. Adriano Moraes

  • Jake Babian vs. Namo Fazil

  • David Mgoyan vs. Albert Morales

  • Jade Masson-Wong vs. Aline Pereira
