Cody Rhodes takes a baseball bat to Pat McAfee’s studio, gets WWE championship back

Current WWE Champion Cody Rhodes was that in name only recently because ESPN media personality Pat McAfee stole his physical title and has been hanging on to it ever since. He was keeping it at his studio, so Rhodes, intelligent fellow that he is, hatched a plan.

Just break right on into the place and take it!

Which is what happened, as we now know thanks to McAfee’s security footage and his helpful narration of the criminal act:

This ensures Rhodes will walk into night one of WrestleMania 42 this Saturday night at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada with the championship around his waist. Whether or not he leaves with it is another story.

This story, meanwhile, is still being trashed by pretty much anyone with a voice to project their opinion and we live in a social media world. You can simply click into McAfee’s post there to see the many responses referring to the entire storyline as “trash” and “shit” and “cringe.” Some may tell you that means it’s working, though.

So much of the focus here has shifted from Randy Orton’s pursuit of the title taking precedence over his longstanding friendship with Rhodes to a future match with McAfee. The good news is we are just days away from the big show, and therefore closer to the end.
