Jamie Ding ‘Jeopardy!’ win streak hits 23, becomes fifth most all-time

Metro Detroit native Jamie Ding continues to make his way up the “Jeopardy!” all-time leaderboard, notching his 23rd consecutive victory in Tuesday’s episode.
The win moves him into a tie for the fifth most in the history of the long-running TV game show.
How much has he won?
Ding racked up another $16,400 in winnings on Tuesday’s show.
He finished ahead of Iain Carpenter, a health care IT specialist from Mahomet, Illinois, who ended the episode with $1 after a big wager in the Final Jeopardy! round didn’t pan out. Stephanie Rice-Hoffner, a former car wash tech manager from New York City, had a negative score at the end of Double Jeopardy! and thus was ineligible to participate in the final round.
Ding’s latest win brings him to a 23-day total of $644,000. That ranks him sixth in terms of all-time winnings on the show, according to The Jeopardy! Fan, an online database dedicated to “Jeopardy!” statistics.
What’s next?
Ding will go for win No. 24 in Wednesday’s episode, which in Detroit airs on WDIV-TV (Channel 4) at 7:30 p.m. The show also streams on Hulu and Peacock.
Another victory will break Ding’s current tie with Mattea Roach, who won 23 straight games in 2022, and give him sole possession of the show’s fifth-longest win streak, according to The Jeopardy! Fan.
The record for most “Jeopardy!” victories is held by current host Ken Jennings, who won an incredible 74 straight games in 2004, earning him more than $2.5 million.

Ding is a 2009 graduate of Grosse Pointe North High School, where he was a successful quiz tournament participant and honor student who graduated a year early, according to a Wayne State University press release. Ding’s father, Yuchuan Ding, is a professor of neurosurgery at Wayne State.
