Man found shot in vehicle at Liberty Bell Shopping Center in Cherry Hill, NJ

CHERRY HILL, N.J. (WPVI) — Authorities are searching for a gunman after a 61-year-old man was found shot inside a vehicle in the parking lot of a busy Cherry Hill shopping center on Wednesday afternoon.
Police have not released any information about a suspect or a possible motive, and said no one was in custody as of the latest update.
Investigators were called to the Liberty Bell Bank Plaza just before 4 p.m. and found the man inside his vehicle, a Ford pickup truck, with a gunshot wound.
Teenagers who had been at a nearby Dunkin’ said they walked outside to confusion and panic.

“This guy pulls in, he’s sitting there, his face planted to the steering wheel. The horn starts going off,” said Jameson Armstrong of Cherry Hill.
“It’s just like extreme chaos cause you don’t know anything that’s going on. All we hear is that honking horn, the guy, everyone rushing over there calling 911. Everything’s just chaotic,” added Aziz Terzi of Cherry Hill.
Phil Hausler, owner of Phil’s Deli & Market, said he rushed outside after hearing the commotion and called 911.
“I go running out. I see the car with a gentleman sitting in the driver’s seat and another gentleman outside of the car, who I actually know — he’s a regular customer of mine — with the doors open, and he’s holding a towel against his upper right chest,” Hausler said.
Investigators haven’t revealed exactly where the shooting took place.
Hausler said an employee reported hearing a car horn blaring as the vehicle moved through the lot.
“My employee tells me she did hear a honking starting over there and going this way. So he may have been shot, honked the whole way as he pulled into the spot, and finally was able to put it in park and stop the car. Thank God he didn’t pull right through a business,” he said.
The Camden County Prosecutor’s Office said the investigation remains ongoing. The victim, who has not yet been publicly identified, was reported to be in stable condition at Cooper University Hospital.
Detectives believe the shooting appears to be an isolated incident.
Anyone with information is urged to contact the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office.
