More rain, foggy conditions in Toronto’s forecast on Thursday

Torontonians will wake to find more rain and fog in the forecast on Thursday with as much as 20 millimetres of rain expected.

A fog advisory and special weather statement remain in effect for the city.

Environment Canada said near zero visibility can be expected in some areas, but dense fog will likely dissipate later this morning.

The rain is expected to continue later this afternoon, the national weather agency said.

“A few more rounds of showers and embedded thunderstorms are possible through the day. Portions of the region have received significant rainfall amounts over the last few days. As a result, any further rainfall could have significant impacts,” the weather advisory read.

“Rainfall warnings may be issued for some regions.”

People are urged to avoid low-lying areas and motorists should not attempt to drive through flooded roadways.

Toronto will see a high of 20 C on Thursday and a break from the rain is coming on Friday, which will see some sunshine and a high of 18 C.
