Kings vs United: Reeza Hendricks makes unbeaten 50 in side’s posted 151-run chase

KARACHI: Reeza Hendricks delivered a 51-run unbeaten batting to lead the Karachi Kings to a competitive total of 150-6 against Islamabad United at the National Bank Stadium here tonight.

Hendricks provided the anchor his side desperately needed after an early stumble, as the Karachi Kings vs Islamabad United clash progresses in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 11.

In the 25th match of PSL tonight, the Kings faced immediate pressure when emerging opener Saad Baig fell for just 6 in the second over.

However, the return of Jason Roy injected temporary momentum; Roy struck a brisk 39 off 27 balls before falling to United captain Shadab Khan.

As wickets fell at the other end, including Azam Khan for 34 and a brief cameo from captain Moeen Ali, Hendricks remained the constant.

He brought up his half-century in the final over, finishing 51 not out off 44 deliveries, ensuring his side reached the 150-mark.

The United’s bowling unit largely kept the home side in check. Richard Gleeson was the standout, claiming 2 for 22 in his four overs, including the crucial wicket of Azam Khan just as he looked to accelerate.

Skipper Shadab Khan also finished with two wickets, while Faheem Ashraf and Muhammad Hasnain chipped in with one apiece to restrict the Kings’ late-innings surge.

The match now hangs in the balance as the United are required to cross 151 runs for victory at a required rate of 7.55 runs per over.
