While it was Lauren T who eventually got voted out by the end of episode 3, Kat had a similar plan all along. Kat later broke down for wrongly assuming that Lauren T was the millionaire. After the dinner, an emotional Kat said:
“I am not thrilled, and I feel like I got played. I feel awful for sending an innocent person home, and now I am back to square zero. I know nothing. I have to be suspicious of everyone again. It s***s.”
Million Dollar Secret season 2 episode: Kat decided not to reveal Kaleb’s identity
While Kat was sure about her suspicion about Kaleb being the millionaire, she decided not to unveil his cover quickly and opened up about her real plan in her confessional, saying:
“I think that was a lie, but I am not gunning for him yet. I think he’s a great player to have on my side. My plan is t protect him right now, and then I will vote him out and take his money when I am ready for the money to be in my box.”
Later, when Lauren T was voted out, Kat explained how her initial plan to make Kaleb stay worked. She further said in her confessional:
“It doesn’t feel good sending someone home who you know isn’t the millionaire. But my game plan worked. And I want to keep him in the game until I really don’t need him around. I am just proud of myself.”
Lauren soon understood that there were raised suspicions about her as she said in her confessional:
“I am not a millionaire, and proving my case is invaluable at this point. The truth will set you free, and I plan to defend myself. I know that I don’t have the money. I feel like this dinner is a make it or break it for me.”
Lauren opens up about her elimination
By the end of the dinner, Lauren T was voted out as many assumed that she was the millionaire hiding. However, she opened the box that turned out to be empty. As Lauren T’s time in the game came to an end, she tearfully bid goodbye, saying:
“I really tried to prove my case. I think I was a good scapegoat. Of course, I am sad about going home. A million dollars sounds wonderful, but I am proud of how I played the game. I was true to myself, and I was as honest as I could be. I guess that’s just what bit me in the b**ty.”
However, Kat admitted that she is proud of how her game plan worked, and Kaleb stayed.
