Middle Tennessee school districts announce closures, delays following severe weather

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – Some schools in the Midstate have announced closures and delays after severe weather moved through the region Thursday evening.

The storms caused downed trees and utility lines, along with blowing debris into roadways. Nearly 75,000 customers across Nashville Electric Service, Dickson Electric Systems, Middle Tennessee Electric, and Cumberland Electric Membership Corporation’s service areas lost power.

These school districts have announced closures and delays for Friday, April 17:

Dickson County Schools – Closed Friday

Cheatham County Schools – Delayed 2 hours

Humphreys County Schools – Closed Friday
