Record Store Day 2026: South East shops join music celebration

Vinyl-lovers in Dorking, Surrey, began queueing outside Spin Sounds in South Street, from as early as 04:00 BST, to get hold of their chosen records when the shop opened at 08:00.
Store owner Lee White said people were “nervous to know if they get what they want”, with only a limited supply of some of the most popular records.
Meanwhile, in West Sussex, Jason Pollard, of Future Audio in East Grinstead, said Taylor Swift had been one of the most popular artists of the day.
On his own musical taste, he said: “My mother was a big influence on me. She had records at the time and we played them when we were children.
“I like to be able to sit down and put a record on – I usually put one on while I’m cooking to just enjoy it with my family.”
