Police incident delays ferries between Horseshoe Bay and Nanaimo

The incident forced two other vessels to hold in place, including the 11:55 a.m. sailing destined for Bowen Island and the 10:55 a.m. sailing arriving from Nanaimo.

Ferry sailings in Nanaimo were delayed Sunday after a police incident on a vessel travelling between Langdale and Horseshoe Bay.

The B.C. Ferries website said Sunday afternoon that the Queen of Surrey was holding in the Horseshoe Bay dock because of the incident.

The incident forced two other vessels to hold in place, including the 11:55 a.m. sailing destined for Bowen Island and the 10:55 a.m. sailing arriving from Nanaimo.

The B.C. Ferries website said the sailing bound for Nanaimo from Horseshoe Bay scheduled to leave at 1:25 p.m. had not departed by 2:45 p.m.

A social media post from the West Vancouver Police said they were on the scene to “provie assistance to a member of the public.”
