Hundreds of thousands of pounds has been handed out over the past week in the People’s Postcode Lottery draws. Among the winners this week was veterinary nurse and animal lover Nicola Almoosa.
Pet-mad Nicola signed up to play in the Postcode Lottery last September because part of the money raised goes to support animal welfare charities. Now, the mum-of-four plans to fly across the globe again in search of more exotic creatures after her £125K win.
Nicola shared the jackpot £1m with six other neighbours in Nebo, Wales, when SY23 5LE landed the Millionaire Street prize. Each ticket was worth £125,000, but one neighbour doubled their prize by playing with two entries.

The animal loving vet nurse said there are so many countries she would like to visit and she’d like to make sure she visits as many as possible. Accepting her prize, she said: “That’s a lot of money… amazing. Lots of adventures will happen with that cheque.”
Also winning a life-altering £125,000 was Jill Fenney, who was left stunned when her cheque was revealed on the anniversary of her older brother’s death. The retired wine merchant secretary lost Steve nine years ago to the day at the age of just 48.

She said: “I like to think that he’s had some part in this. He’s looking down on us, and this is all part of him.” Now Jill and part-time driving instructor husband Dave are drawing up their wish list, which includes a new car and a river cruise in France.
To take part in the Postcode Lottery daily draws, players must sign up their postcode and pay £12.25 a month as a fee. The People’s Postcode Lottery has raised more than £1billion for charities across the UK since the organisation was founded in 2005, as 33 per cent of every ticket purchased goes to charity.
