After last week’s drug stuffing scene and several ‘weird as f**k’ moments, you might have thought Euphoria couldn’t get any wilder.
But it was only episode one – you should have known better.
The second episode of the hit HBO series’ third season dropped over night and it sees the continuation of Sydney Sweeney’s character, Cassie’s, OnlyFans storyline.
That first episode saw a teaser of her dressed as a baby while one scene had her dressed up as a lingerie-clad dog.
And now, she’s pretty much gone fully nude.
Sweeney previously spoke about having gained ‘so much confidence and self-awareness’ through playing Cassie and that she will ‘do what needs to be done’ in order to tell her story.
So, that means committing to Cassie’s storyline of raking in the cash through adult content to pay for her wedding to Nate (Jacob Elordi).

But the extent that Euphoria is willing to go with it is leaving viewers shocked as they ‘didn’t expect Sydney Sweeney to show so much’.
With the episode titled ‘America My Dream’, Cassie poses for more content, with one graphic shot showing ice cream dreaming down her nude chest.
There’s then a shot of her wearing nothing but a soaking wet, see-through American flag wrapped around her.
And then, it’s a baseball themed shoot, which sees her almost totally naked bar a small nude-coloured thong.

And then, of course, the now notorious baby costume shows up as Cassie sucks on a dummy, holding up her legs open in the air for the camera.
Rue (Zendaya) says in the voiceover: “It’s a shame she was with Nate. Cassie was exactly the kind of girl you’d dream of signing. Beautiful, but directionless.
“So desperate for attention, she’s willing to humiliate herself.”
On X, fans praised Sweeney’s commitment to looking hot and portraying the character as they wrote: “SYDNEY SWEENEY YOU ARE INSANE FOR THIS OMG.”
While others found the shots ‘shocking’ and joked: “Cassie is so disgusting that it hurts to watch her scenes.”
“I’m glad everyone in Euphoria also thinks Cassie dressing as an adult baby is f**king weird,” another wrote.
Making plenty of people uncomfortable, some branded it ‘horrible’ to watch and ‘actually terrible’ while others just praised her as ‘soooo tea’.
In 2023, Sweeney told Variety she had asked the show’s creator, Sam Levinson, to amp up Cassie’s mania: “Give me more. I’m going to show you what I have. There’s so much to this girl.”

2019
After the first season of Euphoria premieres, Sweeney tells HuffPost: “The thing about the nudity in this show is that it’s not glamorized. It’s not, ‘Oh, here’s a pair of tits.’ It’s just real.
“I had to look at the whole picture of the entirety of the show, and I just fell in love with the rawness and the situations and the emotions that all these characters go through.”
2022
Following the release of the second series, Sweeney reveals that on occasion she pushed back on the levels of nudity director Sam Levinson called for.

She tells The Independent: “There are moments where Cassie was supposed to be shirtless and I would tell Sam, ‘I don’t really think that’s necessary here.’ He was like, ‘OK, we don’t need it’.
“I’ve never felt like Sam has pushed it on me. When I didn’t want to do it, he didn’t make me.”
Around the same time, she also calls out the double standard around nude scenes, telling Cosmopolitan: “There are hour-long compilations of world-famous male actors with nude scenes who win Oscars and get praised for that work. But the moment a woman does it, it degrades them.”
2023
The following year, Sweeney also reveals that fans are trolling her online with screenshots of Cassie’s nude scenes.
She tells The Sun: “It got to the point where they were tagging my family. My cousins don’t need that. It’s completely disgusting and unfair

“You have a character that goes through the scrutiny of being a sexualised person at school and then an audience that does the same thing.”
2025
In spite of the trolling over her nude scenes and the sexism she’s come up against, Sweeney says she’s not hesitant to perform nude scenes when a script calls for it.
She tells W Magazine: “I don’t get nervous. I think that the female body is a very powerful thing. And I’m telling my character’s story, so I owe it to them to tell it well and to do what needs to be done.”
