Sabrina Carpenter and Madonna Post Messages to Each Other After Coachella 2026 Performance

On Friday night, Sabrina Carpenter welcomed pop icon Madonna onstage during her second weekend at Coachella, surprising the crowd. The stars performed two of Madonna’s biggest hits, “Vogue” and “Like a Prayer.” They also sang a new song that is believed to be from Madonna’s upcoming album,Confessions on the Dance Floor: Part II, set to release this July.
Days after, both Carpenter and Madonna reflected on the milestone performance—and posted adoring tributes to each other on Instagram.
Carpenter wrote, “Coachella weekend 2 might take the damn cake. Madonna .…I’ve got something i wanna talk about! 💋💋💋 thank you for coming out, bringing your love, and gracing the audience with everything you are + astrology knowledge + the greatest songs of all time. Last night was straight out of a dream. spending so much time laughing with you and then above all sharing the stage with you is a privilege I’ll never forget. x.”
Yesterday, Madonna shared her own post, featuring a carousel of photos from the night. “Still flying high since Friday night at Coachella!” she wrote. “Thank you to Sabrina and everyone who made it possible To Bring Confessions II back to where it began -was such a thrill! A moment in history, I will never forget! 🩷 I FEEL SO FREE 🩷”
On her Instagram Stories, she added more context, revealing her costume unfortunately went missing. “This full circle moment hit different until I discovered that the vintage pieces that I wore went missing—my costume that was pulled from my personal archives—jacket, corset, dress, and all other garments,” she wrote. “These aren’t just clothes; they are part of my history. Other archival items from the same era went missing as well. I’m hoping and praying that some kind soul will find these items and reach out to my team.” She provided full contact information on her Instagram Story and added that she is offering a reward:
Onstage that Friday, Madonna spoke to the crowd about the significance of her outfit, saying, “So, 20 years ago today I performed at Coachella. I was in the dance tent, and it was the first time I performed Confessions on a Dance Floor Pt. 1 in America, and that was such a thrill for me, so you can imagine what a thrill it is to be back 20 years later in the same boots, with the same corset, the jacket I had on earlier, a Gucci jacket. So it’s like a full circle moment, you know? Very meaningful for me.”
Carpenter, meanwhile, wore a custom Dior bodysuit covered in sparkles.
Carpenter is a huge fan of Madonna and has performed covers of her songs before, especially during her Short n’ Sweet tour.
During her weekend 1 Coachella set, Carpenter had a number of other special guests, including Susan Sarandon, Samuel L. Jackson, Will Ferrell, and her Girl Meets World co-star Corey Fogelmanis. For weekend 2, she welcomed actors Geena Davis and Terry Crews.
Before her performance, Carpenter told Marc Jacobs for Perfect magazine that she had invested a lot in the show.
“It’s the most ambitious show I’ve ever done,” she said. “It’s probably the most time I’ve ever had to actually just sit down and talk about a show as I’m building it. Most of the time, you’re really quickly thrust into physical rehearsals, but this time around we started this process around seven months ago. So it’s been a long journey. It will be very special.”
