Rebrov resigns as head coach of Ukrainian National Football Team

Serhiy Rebrov has stepped down as head coach of the Ukrainian national team.

According to the Ukrainian Association of Football (UAF), the UAF and the coach have reached an agreement to terminate their collaboration, Ukrinform reported.

Serhiy Rebrov took over the national team in 2023 during the European Championship qualifying cycle. Despite this, he managed to navigate the historically difficult playoff matches for our team and led Ukraine to the Euros. After that, we remained in contention for a World Cup berth until the very end, but we were unable to qualify.

“We thank Serhiy Rebrov for his work and his contribution to the development of young footballers. Today, we need to move forward and make new decisions that will form the foundation of the national team’s future,” said UAF President Andriy Shevchenko.

Serhiy Rebrov will continue to serve as vice president and a member of the UAF Executive Committee.

“I am grateful to the entire team and the fans for the journey we’ve been on. It was a difficult path, marked by victories and defeats, but Ukrainians always supported the national team. These are moments of unity that I will never forget and for which I will always be grateful. I would also like to thank the UAF for its constant assistance, support, and collaboration,” said Serhiy Rebrov.

The name of the new head coach of the Ukrainian national team will be announced at a later date.
