First reported on by WDIO, the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR), the state’s Interagency Command System reported up to 19 wildfires had been reported.

The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for 27 counties in southwest Minnesota and a Fire Weather Watch for critical fire weather in another 27 counties.

Fires will continue to pose a risk until Thursday, when temperatures are expected to be cooler with a chance of precipitation.

The DNR also advised people to check any recent fires, including campfires, to make sure they are completely out.
