Justin Theroux Says He’s ‘Lucky’ to Be with Wife Nicole Brydon Bloom on the Red Carpet After Welcoming Their First Baby

Justin Theroux knows he’s a lucky man.

Just after announcing the birth of their first child together, the 54-year-old actor and his wife, Nicole Brydon Bloom, turned the red carpet of the New York City premiere of The Devil Wears Prada 2 into a date night on Monday, April 20. The next day, Theroux shared a loving tribute to the new mom on Instagram.

Alongside some snaps from the new parents’ date night — and a couple of him dressed as his character, Benji, in the soon-to-be-released sequel film — Theroux shared a sweet message honoring Bloom in the Tuesday, April 21 post.

“If anyone deserves this night out it’s the woman I’m lucky enough to be standing with right here,” he wrote of his wife, adding a heart emoji. He then shared a few words about his scarf-wearing character.

“Oh, and meet Benji Barnes… a total dips, brought to life by all the incredible creatives on The Devil Wears Prada 2 team,” added Theroux.

The couple saw some love in the starry comment section for their red carpet looks. Mindy Kaling wrote, “Oh damn,” while Nina Dobrev commented, “Mom and dad are so HOT 🔥.”

For the N.Y.C. premiere, Theroux looked dapper in a dark blue suit and a white collared shirt, which he opted to accessorize with a silver chain in place of a tie. His date, meanwhile, wore a black halter-neck gown with gold hardware details by Moschino for the couple’s night out.

The red-carpet outing at the premiere of The Devil Wears Prada 2 — which sees Theroux join original cast members Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci — came just two days after the star and his wife announced the arrival of their newborn son.

The couple announced the arrival on Saturday, April 18 in a joint Instagram post, which included a picture of Theroux holding his son to his chest as he appeared to nap. Alongside the post, Bloom wrote, “He’s here 🕊️ we are so in love.”

At the premiere, PEOPLE caught up with Theroux, who revealed that the most exciting thing about becoming a dad is “being able to pour all the love that I have into my son.”

PEOPLE first confirmed that the pair was expecting their first baby together in December 2025. Bloom later shared an update on her pregnancy while speaking with PEOPLE at the 2026 Critics’ Choice Awards in January.

“I feel good,” she said at the time. “I was sick in the first trimester, so that was a bummer, but the second trimester has been going really well. I feel very lucky and grateful for that.”

Bloom and Theroux first sparked romance rumors back in February 2023, and photos of the two showing off some PDA surfaced six months later. The new parents made their red carpet debut as a couple in March 2024, got engaged five months later in Italy and said “I do” in Tulum, Mexico in March 2025.

The Devil Wears Prada 2 hits theaters on May 1.
