I’m A Celeb South Africa’s final four revealed – and fans aren’t happy

It’s the final stretch for the I’m A Celebrity: South Africa campmates. Only four contestants remain as the competition narrows down ahead of Friday’s live final, and the final elimination result has had viewers fuming.

Adam Thomas, Harry Redknapp, Mo Farah, Craig Charles and Scarlett Moffatt took on the legendary Cyclone during this Thursday’s trip to the jungle (23 April) before tackling a pivotal survival trial, Keep Your Eye on The Ball.

The challenge saw each celebrity placed in individual compartments while different coloured balls moved through a network of transparent pipes. Their task was to keep count of each colour while dealing with a series of distractions.

Hosts Ant and Dec then asked them to provide the precise count of one coloured ball picked at random, announcing that the star whose guess was furthest from the correct answer would have to leave camp on the spot.

Harry secured first place, dodging a last-minute elimination and securing his place in the inaugural live finale. He was then followed by Adam, Craig and Sir Mo, leaving Scarlett to stumble behind.

A decade after her win during the 16th series of I’m A Celebrity, the Gogglebox star was eliminated and appeared tearful as she processed the result.

“I’m just gutted, I felt like I was so close, I was the last girl standing,” she then told Ant and Dec. Both presenters then asked her if she’d felt the competition was more difficult since she’d last taken part in it. “Just the trials, who comes up with these, they’re sickos,” she joked.

Still, there’s no hard feelings. Scarlett has already backed Sir Mo Farah to win. “Genuinely, even if I’d got into the final, I’d have said to people, ‘If you were thinking of voting for me, you should vote for Mo,’” she said. “Nobody deserves it as much as him. I really do hope he wins!”

Online, however, viewers aren’t as ready to move on. Many echoed Scarlett’s sentiments, taking to the show’s official Instagram post announcing her exit.

“She so deserved to be in the final, she wasn’t phased by anything and just got on with it,” one commented. “An absolute inspiration to all women & I can imagine her kids will grow up ever so proud of their mama.”

Another added: “Gutted for you. You were amazing.” Someone else said simply that they are “absolutely devastated for my Geordie icon”.

Gemma Collins, who was recently eliminated alongside David Haye, also chimed in with a supportive message for her former campmate, alongside a red heart emoji: “Scarlett was fantastic.”

The I’m A Celebrity final will take place live from London’s Versa Studios in a history-making move – and viewers will have the final word. Split into two parts, the final has already been shrouded in conflict following Jimmy Bullard’s exit from the competition, as the former footballer has hinted he will lift the lid on the real reasons behind his exit during Friday’s final.

I’m A Celebrity: South Africa airs on ITV1 and ITVX.
