Emergency services descend on busy Manchester road

Emergency services stormed a busy east Manchester road following a crash. Police, paramedics and firefighters were all called out to Ashton Old Road, near Smithfield Market, in Openshaw at around 9am this morning (April 24).
Images from the scene show at least two fire engines in attendance, alongside an ambulance response car and Greater Manchester Police. A red car could be seen with its bonnet up, close to where firefighters worked at the scene.
Traffic was blocked on the road while emergency services worked at the scene. GMP confirmed it was called out to a collision involving two vehicles at around 9am.

No serious injuries were reported following the incident and no arrests were made, according to the force. North West Ambulance Service says it was called out to the scene at 9.06am.
It said a man was taken to hospital for treatment following the collision, but his injuries were not deemed to be serious. Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service was approached for further details.
