How Napoli can delay Inter’s 2025-26 Scudetto celebrations

Inter are on course to win the Serie A title for the second time in three seasons, but a victory for Napoli in their match against Cremonese on Friday evening could delay the Nerazzurri’s title celebrations for another weekend.
If Antonio Conte’s side beats Cremonese on Friday evening, Inter will not mathematically be able to claim the league title this weekend.

If Inter and Napoli both win this weekend, there would still be a 12-point gap between the two sides with four matches left to play. However, in the event that the top two teams finish the season level on points, the Serie A title is decided on head-to-head record rather than goal difference.
Napoli beat Inter 3-1 at home back in October and drew 2-2 away in San Siro, which means that they would overtake Inter in the extremely unlikely event that the two teams finish the campaign level on points.
