Are Dua Lipa and Callum Turner Planning a Palermo Wedding?

Dua Lipa and Callum Turner have reportedly chosen Palermo for their wedding and, according to the latest intel from Giornale di Sicilia, the party is expected to last three days, from September 5 to 7, including gala dinners and boat rides. For the occasion, the pop star and the actor reportedly booked an entire floor of the Villa Igiea, a 5-star luxury hotel at the foot of Mount Pellegrino with unique views of the Tyrrhenian Sea. (Representatives for the bride and groom to be did not immediately return requests for comment.)

The “Love Again” and “Training Season” singer seems to have built a very special bond with Palermo over the years. In 2023, she posed in a Palermo FC jersey for the launch of a pair of sneakers dedicated to the city.

Last summer, Lipa and Turner were spotted among the narrow streets of the historic city, mingling among the locals between a game of cards, a fish entrée, a cannoli, and a tour of the cathedrals. On that occasion, they stayed at the Villa Igiea, and Lipa shared a perfect carousel (as she is wont to do) on her Instagram profile, with dreamy photos. The caption? “Palermo in my [heart.]”

In hindsight, that romantic vacation may have had the air of a strategic survey in anticipation of the wedding.

The names of the guests remain under utmost secrecy, but some rumors are already beginning to circulate. The Sun recently speculated that a list could include friends and associates such as Elton John, Olivia Dean, Mark Ronson, Donatella Versace, and Charli xcx. Nothing is confirmed, but such names hint at an event holding great international appeal.

The Bel paese thus confirms itself as one of the preferred destinations for star weddings. And if indeed Palermo will be the setting, “Levitating” will no longer be just the name of a hit song of the bride-to-be, but also the feeling of the guests: suspended between the flavors of the table, the blue of the sea, and the authentic charm of the city.
