Colts trade 47th pick | Stampede Blue

The Colts have traded their second round pick, the 47th overall and 249th pick, for the 53rd, 135th and 237th picks.
Leading up to the draft Chris Ballard made it known the team wanted to add additional picks and tonight he made good on his threats.
From the start of this process it was clear the Colts wanted to add picks to their draft arsenal. With as many holes as they currently have after the big names of free agency have already signed contracts, Chris Ballard stated that he believed the strength of this draft was between the third, fourth and fifth rounds, it makes sense that the team has made this move to do exactly what they planned all along.
The team still needs help at linebacker, pass rusher, wide receiver, safety and multiple depth offensive line spots. So their options are many, with several players fitting those holes that would provide good value for the pick.
For now Colts fans will have to continue waiting for the first addition to the team during the 2026 NFL Draft. At present there are several very good options available at positions of need. Will the team fill holes on defense? Will they look to replace Michael Pittman Jr.? Time will tell. But for now the wait continues.
