Coldest city in B.C.: Merritt sets 102-year-old temperature record

The recent sunny weather across the Eastern Fraser Valley and Interior has not been accompanied by warm temperatures, especially in one B.C. town.
On Friday, April 24, Merritt was the coldest place in the province as temperatures dropped to -7.2 C. This broke a 102-year-old record, as the previous April 24 low in Merritt was -5.6 C, occurring in 1924.
Nakusp and Trail also set cold records on Friday, both reaching -3.1 C.
On the other end of the scale, the Bella Bella area reached 20.9 C, setting a new record, which was previously 20 C in 1989.
