BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – Dead mice on a glue trap, black residue in ice machines and various cleaning violations brought down inspection scores for a handful of food establishments in Jefferson County for the week of April 20-24.
The lowest score posted by the Jefferson County Department of Health (JCDH) for the week, as of Friday afternoon, was for the O’Henry’s Coffee in Hoover.

It lost 9 points for what are considered Priority violations, which are either corrected immediately or within 10 days, depending on the violation.
Inspectors found there was no employee health policy provided, resulting in a 5-point deduction off the score. The coffee shop also lost lost 4 points related to employee records, according to JCDH records.
Marinos Associated Meat #1 on Avenue E in Birmingham had the highest score for the week with a 99.
