Vees fall in game one against Everett Silvertips

The Penticton Vees have lost their first game to the Everett Silvertips in round three of the Western Hockey League playoffs.

The Vees went down by one with less than ten minutes to go in the first period, heading into that intermission with a 1-0 score in favour of the Silvertips.

Everett scored again in the second, but the Vees were keeping up the pressure, ending the period down two goals but tied for shots on goal 18-18.

Then shortly into third period Penticton finally found the back of the net, making the score 2-1 with almost a full period left to play.

But at the 11:28 minute mark, Everett successfully fired back, scoring to make it 3-1.

The Vees attempted to battle but did not manage any more goals before time ran out, pulling their goalie with less than four minutes to go.

Everett scored on an empty net, making the final score 4-1 for the Silvertips.

The Western Conference Finals best-of-seven series continues in Everett Saturday night, with the series now at 1-0 in favour of Everett. The winner will move on to the championship series.

The Vees will be back on home ice Monday and Tuesday. For more information and tickets click here.
