Paramount+ is the perfect streaming service for building your next movie marathon. It adds dozens of movies at the beginning of each month; it just added 147 new movies and shows on April 1. Plus, it adds new movies from Paramount Skydance studios on an ongoing basis.
With so many newly added movies to choose from, though, it can be tough to know which movie to start with. The good news for you is that I’ve looked through the full list, and I’ve found the three movies you need to watch first this weekend. This week I’m going with a newly added documentary about the iconic comedy duo, Cheech and Chong. I’m also recommending a pair of movies considered among the best of the 2010s.

What’s it about? Cheech Marin and Tommy Chong may have split up in the 1980s, but in “Cheech & Chong’s Last Movie,” they’re back together for a road trip to a place called “The Joint.” Along the way, the duo revisits their iconic career, including the good parts and the bad.
Why you should watch it: Cheech and Chong were comedy icons in the 1960s and 1970s, with a legacy that still lasts to this day. If you want an insightful documentary that will have you laughing, this movie is a must-watch.

‘The Social Network’ (2010)

Genre: Biographical drama
What’s it about? “The Social Network” revisits the founding of Facebook by Harvard University students Mark Zuckerberg (Jesse Eisenberg) and Eduardo Saverin (Andrew Garfield). The David Fincher masterpiece hops back and forth between the past and present, anchoring itself around Zuckerberg fighting lawsuits from Saverin, and the Winklevoss twins (both played by Armie Hammer), both over ownership of Facebook.
Why you should watch it: Directed by Fincher and written by Aaron Sorkin, this movie was guaranteed to be excellent. But it’s surpassed excellent, and is now considered one of the best movies of the 2010s. Most importantly, though, it established Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross (Nine Inch Nails) as some of the best score composers of their generation. Watch this, then watch Nine Inch Noize at Coachella and continue to bask in the greatness.

Genre: Sci-fi drama
What’s it about? Linguist Louise Banks is tasked with the mission of a lifetime: Establishing communication with an extraterrestrial species. If she’s successful, it could change humanity forever. If she fails, it could lead to war.
Why you should watch it: Despite winning just one of the eight Oscars it was nominated for (Sound Editing), this movie is considered among the best of the 2010s. It’s a brilliant sci-fi story that plays with the concept of linear time and what it would be like to know one’s future, in addition to tackling what it’d be like to try and communicate with an alien species.
