ALBUQUERQUE, NM – Rescue crews were called to a recent multi-vehicle collision in Albuquerque that left four people injured.
According to a Facebook post by Albuquerque Fire Rescue, the June 30 wreck occurred on Interstate 25 northbound at Avenida Cesar Chavez shortly before 5:30 p.m. and was reported to involve vehicles on fire.
First responders arrived to find a large box truck and a small Jeep engulfed in flames, with a total of four vehicles involved in the crash. The fire was brought under control within about 15 minutes.
One person was transported to an area hospital with critical burn injuries while three others were transported for minor injuries. Two people were treated on scene but declined transport. No firefighters were injured.
New Mexico State Police were investigating the incident with assistance from the Albuquerque Police Department and Albuquerque Fire Rescue.
Accident causes closure on U.S. 62/180 east of Carlsbad
CARLSBAD, NM – Motorists were alerted to an accident affecting traffic flow on a portion of U.S. 62/180 on Thursday morning.
A notification on NMRoads at 11:46 a.m. stated that the incident shut down the westbound lanes of the highway from mile marker 45, four miles east of Carlsbad, to mile marker 77, ten miles east of Halfway.
Officials urged motorists to use caution, reduce speed, and watch for all emergency personnel and equipment in the area while the wreck was being cleared from the roadway.
3-vehicle crash blocks lanes on North Main Street in Roswell
ROSWELL, NM – The Roswell Police Department responded to a crash on North Main Street on Tuesday afternoon.
The police department reported at 2:20 p.m. that three vehicles were involved in the accident, which occurred immediately north of County Club Road. No serious injuries were reported.
The southbound lanes of North Main Street were closed during the crash response.
