Ryan Rickelton and Will Jacks are playing as openers for Mumbai Indians in their IPL 2026 match against Sunrisers Hyderabad. In the fixture taking place at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, the duo added 93 runs for MI in 7.1 overs. Jacks, who is playing his first match of the season, scored 46 runs from 22 balls (5 fours, 3 sixes), and at the time of his dismissal Rickelton was batting on 44 from 21 balls (4 fours, 3 sixes). The 50-run stand by them on Wednesday has entered their names in the history books.
Jacks and Rickelton are the second overseas opening pair with a 50-plus stand for Mumbai Indians in the IPL. Before them, in the 2014 edition of the IPL, Michael Hussey and Lendl Simmons had four 50-plus stands (including one century) in five outings together.
