Bruins’ Arvidsson out for Game 6 vs. Sabres

The Boston Bruins won’t have a key forward for a must-win game on Friday.

Viktor Arvidsson has been ruled out for Game 6 against the visiting Buffalo Sabres, coach Marco Sturm told reporters.

Sturm left the door open for Arvidsson to potentially return for Game 7 on Sunday if the Bruins can win Friday.

Arvidsson did participate in the morning skate on Friday.

The Bruins trail the series 3-2 after staving off elimination with a 2-1 overtime win in Buffalo in Game 5.

Arvidsson suffered an upper-body injury in Sunday’s Game 4 loss and missed practice on Monday.

The 33-year-old Arvidsson had a bounce-back season, scoring 25 goals and 54 points in 69 games. He has two goals against the Sabres in the series.

Puck drop for Game 6 is at 7:30 p.m. ET / 4:30 p.m. PT on Sportsnet 360 and Sportsnet+.
