WIMBERLEY, Texas — The five people from Amarillo who were killed in a plane crash near Austin have been identified.
The Amarillo Pickleball Club identified them as Seren Wilson, Brooke Skypala, Stacy Hedrick, Glen Appling, and Hayden Dillard.
“Please keep their precious families in your thoughts and prayers,” said the Amarillo Pickleball Club.
They were on their way to a pickleball tournament in New Braunfels.
Their Cessna 421 took off from River Falls Airport at 9:11 p.m. Thursday and was scheduled to land in New Braunfels at 11:19 p.m.
The crash happened around 11 p.m. in Wimberly about 40 miles southwest of Austin.
“The pilot and four passengers on board were pronounced deceased on scene,” Sgt. Billy Ray, with the Texas Department of Public Safety, told reporters. “The plane did catch fire. That would indicate some pretty severe damage to the plane.”
