Bolton council says a video showing students at an accommodation complex in the town contains ‘false and misleading’ information.
The clip, which emerged earlier this week, shows a group of people and a coach close to the Orlando Village student accommodation on Thynne Street, Great Lever.
Suitcases and packed bags can be seen on the pavement in the 15 second clip.

A caption on the clip, which has been widely shared, makes reference to ‘illegals’ and ‘shipping them in’.
Bolton council has issued a statement saying the people shown in the clip were international students on their way home after studying at the town’s university.
The council said it wished to address ‘online misinformation’ circulating about asylum seekers.
A Bolton Council spokesperson said: “We are aware of a video circulating online with false and misleading information about students based at Orlando Village in Bolton.
“The video shows a group of students who were leaving Orlando Village, who have been studying here for the past 12 months, and have now left the University of Greater Manchester.”
The council added: “We will continue to work with both Orlando Village and the university to support both staff and students impacted by the false allegations.”
Orlando village is a 383 room accommodation complex for the town’s university.
It’s website states that it is the only ‘approved and recommended accommodation provider by The University Of Greater Manchester’.
