The Canadian Grand Prix ranks second overall across eight fan-focused metrics: Fanatix

Formula 1 draws the largest global audience among annual sports, with 6.7 million fans attending Grands Prix in 2025. In 2026, 22 races across five continents feature ticket prices from $220 to over $1,000, making live attendance more popular but not equally accessible.
As the 2026 season unfolds, F1 ticket marketplace Fanatix has evaluated every Grand Prix event, using eight fan-oriented criteria such as ticket cost, crowd size, destination attractiveness, ease of access, fan feedback, and race excitement. Their analysis highlights the top Grand Prix events for fans to experience in 2026.
The Australian Grand Prix takes the crown as the best for fans to experience
The experts at Fanatix found that the Australian Grand Prix at Albert Park in Melbourne boasts the best overall experience for F1 fans, scoring 7.91 out of 10. The season opener, which celebrated its 40th time hosting at the beginning of the month, scored a perfect 10 for attendance in the study, having drawn a record-breaking 465,498 fans across the four-day weekend in 2025, a staggering 342 per cent of the circuit’s stated capacity, and a perfect 10 for transport, reflecting Melbourne’s exceptional public transport links on race weekend.
A destination score of 9 places it among the most appealing host cities on the calendar, an overtaking score of 6.7 confirms there is plenty of on-track action, and a fan ranking of 7, drawn from a survey of Formula 1 fans rating each Grand Prix on overall experience, completes a well-rounded scorecard across every metric that matters, making it the ultimate Grand Prix to attend in 2026.
Canada ranks second, with the most exciting racing of the top five
Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal takes second place with a score of 7.59 out of 10. Having welcomed 352,000 fans in 2025, a remarkable 306 per cent of its stated capacity, the Canadian Grand Prix — which takes place this year on Sunday, May 24 — scores a perfect 10 for both attendance and airport accessibility and a destination score of 8, making it as easy to get to as it is enjoyable to visit. Its overtaking score of 7.65 is the highest of any Grand Prix in the top five, reflecting the dramatic, unpredictable racing that Montreal consistently delivers.
Monza ranks third as the best Grand Prix in Europe
The Italian Grand Prix at Autodromo Nazionale Monza claims third place with a score of 7.25 out of 10, the highest-ranked European Grand Prix on the calendar. Having attracted 369,041 fans in 2025, a 308 per cent utilisation rate, Monza scores a perfect 10 for attendance and 9 for both destination appeal and airport accessibility, with Milan’s culture and history giving fans far more than just a race weekend. A fan ranking of 8 out of 10 reflects the electric atmosphere generated by the passionate Tifosi, and at a ticket price score of 8, Monza offers exceptional value by the standards of the modern Formula 1 calendar.
Qatar is the least rewarding Grand Prix for fans in 2026
Rounding out the ranking is the Qatar Grand Prix at Lusail International Circuit, scoring just 5.53 out of 10. Despite drawing 162,972 fans in 2025 and a strong attendance score of 10, Qatar is let down by a transport score of just 4 and a fan ranking of just 3.5 out of 10, the lowest of any Grand Prix on the calendar. The data suggests that while the Lusail circuit draws a crowd, it struggles to deliver the broader experience that the best Grand Prix offer.
