1 dead after car with explosive device crashes into Multnomah Athletic Club, police say

PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) – Police are investigating after they say a car with an explosive device crashed into the front entrance of the Multnomah Athletic Club early Saturday morning, killing the driver.
According to the Portland Police Bureau, officers were called to the scene of the club, located at 1849 Southwest Salmon Street, shortly before 3 a.m. in response to the crash.
Police say the car caught fire, and found evidence of an explosive device inside. The driver was killed in the crash.
An investigation remains ongoing. Streets in the area were closed due to an on-scene investigation.

Another car crashed into the building on April 8, injuring a security guard, though police at the time said there was no evidence of impairment or criminal activity.
