Hugh Jackman and Sutton Foster Make Their Met Gala Debut

The Met Gala just got a big burst of Broadway. New-ish couple Hugh Jackman and Sutton Foster have officially made their Met Gala 2026 debut, walking the red carpet arm in arm, six months after revealing their relationship to the world.

A Met Gala regular, Jackman is sporting a classic Black Giorgio Armani tuxedo. Tonight marks Foster’s first time at the Met Gala: the two-time Tony winner wore a shimmering, metallic, one-shoulder golden gown with a high slit, showing off the gams that have made her one of Broadway’s most beloved triple threats.
This is not Jackman and Foster’s first event as a couple, but their relationship was not public until fairly recently. Old friends Jackman and Foster reconnected, and seemingly fell in love, while starring opposite each other in the 2023 Broadway revival of The Music Man. While walking the red carpet for the show’s premiere, Foster exclusively told Vanity Fair that the beloved Broadway musical was about “community.” “But I feel like we’ve created our own little community and our own little family and we take that very seriously,” she added.
The Music Man closed in January of 2023; approximately nine months later, Jackman announced that he was separating from his wife Deborah Lee Furness after 27 years of marriage. His divorce has since been finalized. In May 2025, Furness opened up about her split from Jackman in an exclusive statement to The Daily Mai. “My heart and compassion goes out to everyone who has traversed the traumatic journey of betrayal,” she said at the time. Jackman never directly addressed Furness’s comment, but a source told The Daily Mail he was “disappointed” by it. Foster filed for divorce from her husband, Ted Griffin, in October 2024.
