Tyla’s Valentino Met Gala 2026 Top Is Made From Rhinestones And Nothing Else

To quote Tyla’s new pop song with Zara Larsson: She did it again! As in, Tyla shut down the red carpet at the 2026 Met Gala again. This year marked the South African singer’s third time attending the event, and her red carpet look was characteristically bold. The star wore a custom Valentino outfit designed by Alessandro Michele.

Tyla’s long dress featured a satin bleu paon skirt, complete with a deep slit and embroidered silver rhinestone waistline. The tulle top, meanwhile, featured long sleeves and a deep-V neckline, punctuated with fringe and silver sequins. (It was all very much giving body – a fitting choice, given the Met’s new Costume Art exhibition is focused on how fashion interacts with the human form.)

Her vibrant look tonight continues Tyla’s winning streak of memorable Met appearances over the years. Last year, for instance, Tyla – who served on the 2025 hosting committee – donned a white pinstriped Jacquemus gown, paired with vintage-inspired glam. In 2024, meanwhile, she threatened to break the internet when she emerged onto the carpet in a moulded-sand Balmain number. (Yes, it was made with three layers of actual sand, mixed in with micro crystal studs.)

Clearly, Tyla has earned her spot on the 2026 Met steps – and here’s hoping there are many more major Met Gala fashion moments in her future.
