Major train disruption in South East over bank holiday weekend

Engineering work taking place on Southeastern and Southern Railway lines will affect rail services over the bank holiday weekend.

Southeastern said the planned work, carried out by Network Rail, was to “maintain and improve” rail infrastructure, adding it was usually done during weekends or bank holidays.

The train operator said services at Charing Cross, Waterloo East, London Bridge and Cannon Street would be affected.

On Saturday, there are no trains from Charing Cross or Waterloo East, and a reduced service is available from London Bridge and Cannon Street, but most trains will run to and from Victoria.
