The joyful appearance came after Lively and Justin Baldoni’s company, Wayfarer Studios, settled their lawsuit just two weeks before it was due to go to trial in New York.

The dispute began in December 2024 when Lively filed a sexual-harassment complaint against co-star Baldoni, 42, and Wayfarer Studios, over their movie It Ends with Us.

After the sexual harassment claim was dismissed, Lively and Wayfarer were set to go to trial on additional claims, including retaliation, in New York on May 18.

On Monday, May 4, attorneys for both sides issued a joint statement confirming the agreement.

“The end product — the movie It Ends With Us — is a source of pride to all of us who worked to bring it to life,” reads the statement. “Raising awareness, and making a meaningful impact in the lives of domestic violence survivors — and all survivors — is a goal that we stand behind.”

“We acknowledge the process presented challenges and recognize concerns raised by Ms. Lively deserved to be heard. We remain firmly committed to workplaces free of improprieties and unproductive environments,” continued the joint statement. “It is our sincere hope that this brings closure and allows all involved to move forward constructively and in peace, including a respectful environment online.”

The day after the lawsuit had been settled, Lively made a “fearless” return to the Met Gala on Tuesday, May 5, wearing an archival Atelier Versace gown from spring 2006, accessorizing with custom Lorraine Schwartz jewelry.

An exclusive source told PEOPLE that the mom of four seemed “strong, confident, fearless” on the red carpet, adding that she’s “standing strong,” amid the legal drama.

The source also shared that Lively was “chatting” with others at the event and “didn’t avoid anybody or any conversations.”

Lively was a guest of Vogue and was seated at Anna Wintour’s table inside the event.
