BMW opened preorders for the all-new 2027 iX3 on Wednesday, widely considered its most important vehicle to land in the US in decades.
As the first model from its Neue Klasse, or “New Class” of electric vehicles, the new iX3 is bringing significant improvements from the German automaker’s current EV lineup.
Based on its sixth-generation (Gen6) eDrive, an 800-volt architecture, and advanced new cylindrical battery cells that BMW said unlock a 30% improvement in driving range and 30% faster charging speeds compared to its current EVs.
On BMW’s website, the 2027 iX3 50 xDrive is now available to preorder, starting at $61,500. The base Sport trim is standard with 20″ Aero Bicolor Wheels, a Multifunction Steering Wheel, and Driving Assistant Plus.
While the Alpine White non-metallic comes standard, you can upgrade to one of seven metallic colors for an extra $650. For $3,600, BMW offers the Frozen Space Silver Metallic exterior color.
The 2027 BMW iX3 is available in three different trims: Sport, M Sport, and M Sport Professional, priced from $61,500, $64,000, and $65,500, respectively.
You can choose from several different packages, including the comfort package (+$1,500), technology package (+$1,900), parking assistance package ($750), and driving assistance professional package (+$2,500).

Including the delivery fee, the 2027 BMW iX3 50 xDrive is available to preorder for $62,850. Using BMW’s payment calculator, with a $4,999 down payment, a 36-month lease with 10,000 miles annually costs $862 per month.
Powered by a 108.7 kWh battery, the 2027 iX3 is listed on BMW’s website with up to 434 miles of driving range. Last week, BMW updated the iX3’s range from 400 miles to 434 miles, but later reverted to the initial 400 miles. Apparently, it’s back up to 434 miles.
With a DC fast-charging capacity of up to 400 kW, the new BMW iX3 can recharge from 10% to 80% in about 21 minutes.
The interior brings a new high-tech, premium look with BMW’s Neue Klasse cabin design. The setup features a large 17.9″ touchscreen infotainment screen at the center and BMW’s Panoramic Vision 3D Head-Up Display that spans across the base of the windshield.

After opening orders in Europe in September, BMW’s CEO Oliver Zipse said the new iX3 secured over 50,000 orders in just six months, or a third of the company’s total since its debut.
Starting at $61,500, the 2027 BMW iX3 is cheaper than the 2026 Genesis Electrified GV70 ($64,380), the Porsche Macan Electric ($80,300), the Audi Q6 e-tron ($63,800), the Rivian R1S ($76,990), and the Mercedes EQS ($89,950).
