Man’s death treated as ‘unexplained’ after emergency services rush to incident

Several emergency services vehicles, including West Mercia Police cars, an air ambulance, a land ambulance, a MERIT trauma team and a paramedic officer, were called to Darwin Avenue in Ronkswood at around 6.20pm yesterday (Tuesday, May 5).

An eyewitness reported police tape being put up next to a property in the area.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene, with enquiries still ongoing as to the circumstances surrounding the man’s death.

A spokesperson for West Mercia Police: “We received a call around 6.20pm yesterday evening (Tuesday, May 5), reporting a man who was seriously injured on Darwin Avenue.

 “Despite the efforts of emergency services, he was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

 “His death is currently being treated as unexplained, and enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding how he died.”

Police have confirmed the man was 30 years old, with the incident happening outside of a property on the road.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service added: “We were called to Darwin Avenue, Worcester at 6.22pm last night (Tuesday, May 5).

An ambulance, paramedic officer, a MERIT trauma team and the Midlands Air Ambulance responded to the scene. Crews administered advanced life support to a man in a critical condition but sadly nothing could be done to save him and he was confirmed deceased on scene.”
