The A14 in Suffolk has been closed in both directions following a serious crash.
Police were called just before 02:30 BST to the stretch of dual carriageway at Bury St Edmunds.
The road is closed between junction 43 for the A134 Bury Central Interchange and the Sugar Beet Roundabout, and junction 44 for the A134 Bury Eastern Interchange and Moreton Hall.
A diversion through the town centre is expected to be in place all morning while emergency services attend the incident.
